Firesafe
fire sensor provides for
automatic shutdown at 135º F. This unique safety device prevents the
fan from "fanning the flames" or more importantly spreading smoke in
the event of a fire.
Firesafe
senses ambient air temperature
and is calibrated to shutdown when the temperature exceeds 140º F.
The Firesafe
device is directly wired to the line
voltage electrical circuitry and is located inside the yoke under
the bottom canopy where it can best sense AMBIENT air
temperature.
The heart of the
Firesafe
device is a bi-metal contact which is
custom calibrated to specific opening temperature specifications.
The electrical circuit remains closed until the contact reaches a
predetermined calibration level. At that point, the contact opens
interrupting the electrical circuit. When the temperature subsides,
the Firesafe
device automatically resets itself
restoring the electrical circuit.
Applications are
numerous. HRS fans equipped with
Firesafe
are SPECIFIED by the U.S. Postal
Service in the Midwest Region which encompasses Kentucky, Indiana
and Ohio. Public schools , colleges and universities, retail stores,
churches, fire departments, industrial/commercial
establishments...etc., have really picked up on the
Firesafe
concept.
